Letter from the 2013-2014 Wellesley Quest Liaison

Dylan McGarvey, Wellesley

Hello, and welcome to Wellesley! My name is Dylan McGarvey and I will be our chapter's Quest Liaison for the 2013-14 academic year. I am currently a sophomore, and I served as our chapter secretary last year.

I don't think there are many places quite like Wellesley. The environment of a women's college is distinctive, but so is the strength of our community here. The students here are fiercely committed to each other and making our home as welcoming and safe as possible. Among your Wellesley siblings, I hope you will feel free to pursue your passions and ambitions, whatever they may be. Our campus is also a stunningly beautiful place to live: there's nothing like studying by Lake Waban on a warm spring day or walking to class as the bells in Galenstone Tower play. We also have the city of Boston about a thirty-five minute bus ride away with its museums, historical sites, and a huge number of college students to meet and befriend.

As a Quest Scholar chapter, our goal is to support and encourage each other as we work toward higher education and our careers while increasing Wellesley's accessibility to low-income students. I hope we become not just a campus organization, but a group of friends. I can’t wait to get to know all of you, and I hope we’ll all have a great year together.
