 Scripps College
Welcome
Letter from the Scripps Quest Liaison

Welcome to Scripps’ chapter page. My name is Taryn Riera and I am the Liaison for beautiful Scripps College. I’m a sophomore from South Carolina majoring in Anthropology and French. I also participate in many of Scripps’ fantastic clubs, including [in]Visible Magazine, the fine cheese club, and Family, our queer/straight alliance. We have the best of everything at Scripps: fantastic professors, beautiful dorms, and unbelievably clever and intelligent women, as well as incredibly supportive staff and resources, including the lovely ladies in Career Planning & Resources, Dean of Students, and SCORE. Anything you can’t find at Scripps can probably be found on any of the other four colleges in the Claremont Consortium (including Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Harvey Mudd), which offers the resources of a large university without compromising the small college feel of Scripps. I am so grateful to be at Scripps; is truly a haven for creative minds and passionate spirits.
Transitioning to college can be tough. Our goal is to create a space for Quest Scholars to feel safe and at home. Whether you’re thousands of miles from home or lived just down the street, we aim to make Scripps a home for you. We have weekly meetings to plan events or just chill out together, frequent snack breaks to relieve stress, and outings to places like Santa Monica pier. We are a resource for you, whether that means a shoulder to cry on, a ride to Target, or academic advice. No group has been more helpful and supportive to me than the Scripps Quest Scholars, and we want to continue to support each incoming group of Scripps women from orientation to graduation.
We love Scripps and our Quest Scholars!
