When Kelsey Gaetjens, a Williams College junior from Lihue, Hawaii, applied to intern with the Quest Scholars Program over the summer, he thought of it mainly as an opportunity to get more involved with Quest and maybe gain some work experience. This summer, Farrah Bui, a pre-med Quest Scholar and member of Princeton’s class of 2014, worked as a Student Recruitment intern for QuestBridge. She had always imagined QuestBridge as a large office with a lot of employees, but to her surprise, there were only a handful of people in a small office. Farrah learned everyone’s name within half an hour, and she says the staff also took the time to get to know her. Read More…

When Keianna Dixon wrote to us about what an amazing summer internship she had in DC, we wanted to share it. Keianna has committed every summer since graduating high school to internships in public service, first at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2007, and then at the National Institutes of Health in 2008. For the summer of 2009, Keianna was chosen as one of a hundred – out of over 6,000 applicants – to intern in the Office of Presidential Personnel as part of the White House Internship Program. Every so often we ask Quest Scholars to tell us what inspires them or what their life is like after QuestBridge. A recipient of a Summer Service Award (Honorable Mention) from the Quest Scholars Network, Kevin Wandrei interned this summer at Humanities Washington. Funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, Humanities Washington provides both programming and grants to ensure that the humanities are accessible to people across Washington State – rural and urban, rich and poor alike. Its reach is vast: from family literacy programs to museum exhibits, it gives grants ranging from under $500 to $10,000. Read More…
