Letter from the 2014-2015 Davidson Quest Liaison
Hello my fellow Quest Scholars and Wildcats,
My name is Dominique Samuels, I’m from New Jersey, and I am a member of Davidson College Class of 2018. I would like to welcome you to our QSN Chapter page. Davidson is a top-notch choice for a Quest Scholar like you. Davidson has over 200 student-run organizations, and if you would like to start your own, it isn't hard. Class sizes are small; the average is about 15, making the professor to student relationships easier to maintain. The professors have office hours and are always there to lend a helping hand and the same can goes for the students that make up the body of Davidson College. We are a close knit community of almost 2,000 students. Located just 20 minutes from Charlotte, everything you need or want to do is in the surrounding area. Davidson is a place of education, but also a place for growth. It will challenge you to think in new ways and become not only a better student, but a better citizen in the world we live in today.
The campus is beautiful, with a vast amount of space to have study time and social interaction outside on the green fields of grass. Since Davidson is a liberal arts college, we only have undergraduates on campus. This makes freshman research possible; you can dive into any project that you have been thinking about with the help of a professor. In terms of food you can never go wrong with the various options that await you provided by Veil Commons, Union Station, Davis Cafe, and Wildcat Den. Last but not least, if you are all about school spirit Davidson is the right place for you. As one of the smallest Division 1 sports schools, Davidson is big in spirit and heart. Students here come together to constantly and cheerfully support their classmates to victories. It can be an exciting time for the close knit community. I look forward to sharing future experiences with you, whether it is in the Union where casual lounging and social interaction occurs, in the stands of an amazing basketball game, in a club meeting, or even during a study session in the library. I wish you the best here at Davidson College and hope to get to know you and grow with you during our time together.
Your Quest Liaison,
Dominique Samuels '18
