Letter from the 2013-2014 Davidson Quest Liaison
Greetings fellow Quest Scholars and Wildcats,
I would like to give you a warm welcome to the first Davidson Quest Scholars Network chapter page. My name is Telavive Taye, and I am a Quest Scholar enrolling in Davidson College as a member of the Class of 2017.
I am so excited for everything Davidson’s beautiful campus has to offer: small class sizes that build strong student-professor interactions, awesome sports programs that always get the Wildcats roaring, a fully-rounded Liberal Arts curriculum, a beautiful, scenic campus filled with rich club and intramural activities, and all the building blocks of this school that one has to experience, with a list that goes on and on.
When it comes to campus life, Davidson’s residential halls receive great praise from a large number of students and alumni. When it comes to nourishment, Davidson really has the right-priced meal plans supplied by more than two dining locations. Within and close to the campus, there are more than four places to eat out, and for a visit to the big city, Charlotte is only 20 minutes away. Students really love Veil Commons, a big cafeteria on campus that has diverse dishes throughout the week. Students love Commons so much that they have made a 5-minute rap on YouTube.
One of the many blessings that come with attending a small-town school such as Davidson is that students are able to enjoy life in the suburbs and still be able to visit the big hit city of Charlotte with just a 20-minute drive. The Davidson community - the people that live in the town and the alumni who are very closely linked with the school- are great supporters of the students and they provide amazing events for us to attend.
For a small liberal arts school experience, Davidson is a clear target. With our beautiful campus and rich academia, Davidson will make you feel welcome every day. I really look forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and building a community with you.
